Have you ever spent time trying to pick out the best bird seed, and then found the birds were kicking most of it out on the ground? That's because most of the seed they put in there is cheap stuff that the birds don't even like. It looks pretty in the bag, but the birds won't really eat it.
These Birds Are Common In Ozark Feeders

We love feeding the birds and watching them all year round. We bought all kinds of bird seed looking for something they really liked, but one day I noticed that they were eating the corn I put out for the chickens better than the seed in the feeder.
We have tried different kinds of chicken feed also, but found the do better on corn chops than anything else. Many of the poultry feeds were the same as bird seed, the chickens really didn't like it. I found corn chops beside the pig feed and bought a bag to try it out, and the chickens love it – so do the birds.
Corn chops are partially ground corn, but not fine like corn meal. The idea is that animals can digest the corn better than whole corn if it's chopped up. But chickens and birds love it, too. The best part is that it's really cheap compared to bird seed. A full 50lb. bag only costs about $8.
Corn chops work just fine in most bird feeders and you can throw some on the ground for the doves and other ground feeders. Next time you are at the farm store look for corn chops and try some out in your bird feeder.
